Do you want to learn how to knit and crochet? Are you interested in creating handmade items for people in need?
Join us at Fiber Arts Club!
Fiber Arts Club is a place for students to work on projects, learn a new skill, create items for people in need, and socialize with peers.
No experience required! Everyone is welcome! If you would like to learn how to crochet or knit, we have supplies that you can use to learn.
Fiber Arts Club meets on Mondays from 3pm to 4pm in Sra. Almquist's room (B Building in room B122).
Make sure you have a ride home at 4pm or sign up for the activity bus during lunch.

Projects for Charity
Warm Up America - https://warmupamerica.org/make/
Volunteers donate their time to crochet and knit one or more 7" by 9" sections, as well as entire blankets and accessories. Sections are either joined by individuals or groups in a community and donated locally or sent to foundation headquarters for joining and distribution.
WUA! blankets are distributed to individuals and families in need through community service organizations as well as through chapters of national organizations such as the American Red Cross. The foundation maintains a database with requests from social service agencies. As blankets are received and assembled, they are shipped to the agency at the top of the list. WUA! volunteers around the country are encouraged to donate completed blankets within their own community in the true spirit of "neighbor helping neighbor."
Hats for Seattle Children's Hospital
Hats are needed for children who are being treated at the Children's Hospital in Seattle. Hats can be either knitted or crocheted.
Here are a couple of tutorials you can use to get started:
-
Where can I get fiber arts supplies?
Craft Stores such Micheals, JoAnne Fabrics
Regular stores like Fred Meyer and Walmart also have some yarn and supplies.
Dollar Tree has knitting needles, crochet hooks, and yarn.
Goodwill and Value Village are great places to get second-hand supplies and yarn.
And of course, Amazon!
