Referral

  • How are students referred and selected for the Highly Capable Program?

Selection procedures begin with a referral from a parent, guardian, teacher, or community member. To refer your student for testing and possible placement in the highly capable program, you must complete the Highly Capable Testing Referral Form if your student is currently in first, second, third or fourth grade. Regardless of who makes the referral, the parent/guardian must complete, sign, and submit the referral form for their student by the posted deadline.

Highly Capable Testing for students in First through Fourth Grade:

Testing is complete for placement in the 2025-2026 school year except for those students who joined Everett Public Schools after the referral deadlines. The referral form for fall testing will be available on the first day of school (August 27, 2025).
