In Everett Public Schools,                        kindergarten starts with Everett Ready!

Everett Ready is a transition program offered in August for all students preparing and enrolled to enter kindergarten in the fall.  

Everett Ready provides an opportunity for students to become familiar with the school campus, the staff, and their kindergarten peers. The program supports positive, consistent experiences for all children and families with time and space to learn school routines and practices.

Everett Ready

• offers a safe environment before the start of school and the arrival of students in grades 1-5
• offers a welcoming introduction to elementary school for families and students, relieving many first day anxieties
• provides school staff with critical information about students’ strengths and learning needs, allowing planning for individualized instruction 
• gives families an opportunity to meet staff, discuss kindergarten readiness and receive educational support around helping their students become school ready
• provides an opportunity to connect students with necessary district resources
• provides an opportunity to begin collecting student data around kindergarten readiness. 

Everett Ready will tentatively be held from Monday, August 24 to Thursday, August 27, 2026 for three hours in the morning (starting at your child's school start time for three hours). Any changes to the program dates will be updated in August on this page. 

Registration to attend Everett Ready is required. Please complete the Registration Form and email it to P-5earlylearning@everettsd.org or deliver it to your child's school. Transportation is provided if your child lives more than a half-mile walking distance from school and is registered to attend Everett Ready before July 28, 2026.   

Note: A Registration Form is not required if you marked your child as attending the program on the online enrollment.  However, a Registration Form would be required if your response was 'No' or 'Unknown at this time', but your child will be attending.
