    • Our district promotes inclusive belonging for all.

The School Board adopted the Gender Inclusive Schools Policy 3213P in June of 2016. This policy, along with ours, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Policy 0010 serves as the foundation to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students, staff, and families. Additionally, on June 1, 2024 our district hosted our third annual PRIDE Day event within our district and raised the PRIDE flag in support of our LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families. We encourage our schools, staff, families, and students to show their pride and allyship throughout the year and recognize June as LGBTQIA+ Pride month. Below are other significant dates:

      • Solidarity Week - November 7-11th
      • Transgender Awareness Week - November 13-19th
      • Transgender Day of Remembrance - November 20th
      • International Transgender Day of Visibility - March 31st
      • Day of Silence - April 22nd
      • PRIDE Month - Month of June

      Partnering Organizations:

      • Visit our partner Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Education Network (GLSEN) for resources.

GLSEN offers a range of resources for both student-led and educator-driven programs that seek to improve LGBTQ inclusivity in schools. Whether it’s taking a training, getting help starting a GSA, or using our LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum resources year-round, GLSEN is here to support you in supporting LGBTQ students.

For more resources from other incredible organizations both locally and nationally, please visit our parent and community or student resources pages on our department website.
